Corinne Conrad
Strategic Marketing Manager, IVD and Life Sciences

What resources, support or learning opportunities at Phillips Medisize have empowered you to enhance your performance or advance your career goals?
The KochGPT and Copilot generative AI platforms are empowering tools that I use frequently. An example use case is for various types of research that in turn inform our Diagnostics segment strategy. I appreciate the Koch GenAI team for their regular updates on use cases and platform upgrades. I also really like to use Ask Fred to improve my fluency in PBM (Principle Based Management™). When I first started at Phillips Medisize, I enrolled in the PBM Quick Start Academy and found those facilitated sessions to be a tremendously impactful series of live interactive workshops that helped me immerse myself in our PBM culture.
Can you share how your role here has challenged you to grow and reach your full potential?
My role as strategic marketing manager of the IVD segment represents a mid-career industry shift and therefore a growth opportunity for which I am tremendously grateful. My challenges and growth come from the need to learn the CDMO industry. Learning our Koch-Molex-Phillips Medisize capabilities and the competitive landscape have been prerequisites for creating a strong business strategy for the segment and compelling sales enablement tools that engender new business.
How have your team members or leaders supported your growth and professional development?
The CDMO industry is highly engineering dependent. In contrast, my previous OEM IVD work experience was a blend of marketing partnering with scientific molecular biologists, microbiologists, virologists and such. My engineering teammates at Phillips Medisize have been generous with knowledge sharing and helping me assimilate how best to identify and leverage our capabilities to create actionable marketing plans and effective sales enablement assets.
What does it mean to you to contribute to a company dedicated to improving people’s lives?
Improving people’s lives through healthcare is the entirety of why I’ve pursued a career in the diagnostics industry. I feel joy and fulfillment when I know that our products are helping people receive an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment. It’s extremely frustrating, for example, when we have an ache or an infection and an inaccurate diagnosis leads to improper treatment and therefore prolonged ill health. I like to think our collaborative work with OEM IVD companies helps mitigate some of that frustration for people.
How does the environment at Phillips Medisize encourage you to explore new ideas and embrace innovation?
PBM is a cultural innovation in itself. I appreciate our structural approach to exploring new ideas using principles such as Experimental Discovery, Transformation and Changing Paradigms. I’ve held these three principles top of mind as our IVD segment explores growth into the life sciences and bioprocessing markets. I’ve challenged myself to continuously level up my fluency in PBM principles not only because of its multitude of workstream applications, but also because of its applications to guiding interactions with my colleagues every day.
In what ways do you see Phillips Medisize upholding its commitment to integrity in everyday work?
Our Quality culture immediately comes to mind. One singular QMS across all 23 global production facilities is a feat in itself. Furthermore, the fact that our sites underwent 190 successful audits and inspections over the past two years with ZERO critical issues is a tremendous accomplishment. This accomplishment speaks to our collective integrity at Phillips Medisize.
