Opportunity

A large global pharmaceutical customer asked us to innovate an autoinjector epinephrine device into a trainer device by simplifying the parts, materials and assembly without changing the functionality, form factor and number of user steps. Plus, since it was a trainer device, it needed to be foolproof with a resettable design.

Solution

We delivered a novel, patent-pending design. We fool-proofed the reset mechanism, replicated the user steps and, perhaps most importantly, reduced the number of parts by 50 percent, as well as the number of assembly steps.

Opportunity

An international pharmaceutical customer tapped us to reduce the cost, optimize the electronics and improve the overall market viability for an add-on electronic module for pMDI drug delivery.

Solution

We optimized the sleep setting; addressed leakage in interfaces, such as sensors, battery and LEDs; improved hardware and firmware to enhance overall design; and improved power consumption with a 100 percent increase in recharging frequency.
