Verus Pharmaceutical—Drug Packaging
Drug Packaging Innovation – Two Doses in One Device
Combination products that mate a drug and a mechanical delivery device are in demand among manufacturers and consumers alike. Verus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. turned to Phillips-Medisize for its combination product manufacturing and drug handling expertise to assist with its Twinject® auto-injector program.
The innovative Twinject device provides two doses of epinephrine in one delivery system for the treatment of anaphylaxis – a life-threatening reaction commonly caused by exposure to such allergens as insect stings, foods, drugs, or other antigens.
The Power of Drug-Device Company Collaboration
When combination product launch success depends upon speed to market, drug and device companies benefit by joining forces. Such partnerships can free you to focus on your core competencies, while leveraging your supplier’s existing, proven, regulatory-compliant manufacturing processes and infrastructure. Tapping into the expertise of device companies also helps you poise your combination product project for success. Early collaboration, from initial design concept phase, allows your device company partner to help you anticipate potentially problematic areas that can occur during pilot production, clinical trials, and eventual high-volume manufacturing.
