Warehouse Specialist

  • Prepare finished goods and paperwork per customer requirements for shipment 
  • Determine if shipments need to be expedited or ship normal means
  • Coordinate freight pickups/deliveries with freight carriers using email and phone from customer/corporate approved list
  • Maintain UPS/FedEx computer system, shipments/tracking
  • Request proof of delivery and track shipments for inbound and outbound when required with UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL carriers ,Expeditors, and long haul shipments 
  • Request freight quotes from preferred freight forwards when requested of other departments
  • Complete proper paperwork for hazardous material shipments, must include MSDS 
  • Identify that incoming items are ours and all proper paperwork is attached ( MSDS, Certs. , Data, and Packing Slips) enter into IQMS and distribute to appropriate department utilizing the proper equipment, materials and electronic system for tracking
  • Coordinate subcontract shipping requirements between subcontractor, production and purchasing with appropriate paperwork
  • Maintain computer tracking systems
  • Act as a communication link to customer service, purchasing, production planners, drug logistic coordinators, material handlers, scheduling, engineers and quality concerning Inventory levels, and the status of inbound and outbound orders
  • Manage a KANBAN System
  • Update shipping text for customer service and shipping
  • Maintain Zebra printers
  • Maintain spreadsheets for subcontracting, expedited freight costs & tracking information
  • Provide up-to-date training information for forklifts, AES, export regulations, and new hires
  • Assist customers with package tracking and recovery
  • Update Customer Specific shipping requirements as needed
  • Assist the Inventory Control specialist in performing cycle counts and inventory control to ensure effective adherence to sound inventory management principles such as FIFO
  • Maintain inventory control and organization for first-in/first-out inventory
  • Preform IQMS inventory transactions
  • Label, bar code, palletize and stretch product for shipment
  • Maintain AES and overseas paperwork for all outgoing shipments. Keep up to date on training for exports, and export regulations
  • Order warehouse supplies
  • Make sure the recycling gay-lords are set up for material disposal by R.A.I. and call for pick–up of scrap as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in shipping/receiving/materials

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to work under little supervision
  • Basic math skills(i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Basic reading, to include comprehension skills
  • Satisfactory work and attendance record
  • Ability to operate a forklift (complete training & testing)
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements for the position and completion of safe lifting test
  • Ability to manage multiple small-to medium-scale projects
  • Ability to understand and implement customer requirements
  • Ability to help meet financial goals
  • Working knowledge of IQMS, IQRF & AES (Export Filing)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of material and part number
  • Proper use of scales
  • Must be familiar with the quality expectations for all assemblies produced
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to take initiative
  • Demonstrate ability to be thorough and accurate
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving outsource/subcontract materials
