Tool Repair Intern

Responsibilities

This position is intended as a temporary Internship.  The position may be full time during the summer, and may be extended on a part time basis, based on business need and mutual interest/availability. It is a paid position, but offers no benefits.  

Key Responsibilities of the Position

  • Provide minor fabrication/repair of mold components, secondary fixtures and gages
  • Clean and lubricate molds
  • Assist with Toolroom 5S and other organizational/improvement initiatives
  • Clean and minor repairs to hot manifold/sprue systems
  • Properly tag molds and secondary equipment
  • Change mold inserts over to run different parts and set date codes
  • Review production schedule and identify molds with change over and date codes and ensure mold is set-up correctly
  • Keep accurate account for all molds and verify actual location
  • Prepare molds for shipment to vendor locations
  • Maintain a log of molds that are shipped and received

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active enrollment in Machine Tool (or related) Technical Degree program

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills

Physical / Other

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds 25% of the time
