Quality Inspector & Lead 12 Hour Nights

Responsibilities

12 HR NIGHT SHIFT, SCHEDULE INCLUDES WORKING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND, WITH  ALTERNATING 3-DAY WEEKENDS OFF
  • Perform inspections per control plans/inspection plans, document results, and make start-up decisions
  • Identify, contain, and document all defective/suspect product
  • Operate precision measuring instruments in accordance with approved procedures
  • Perform statistical studies such as gage repeatability/reproducibility and capability studies
  • Interpret visual and dimensional quality criteria to operators
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control and quality system software programs
  • Verify, index, file, and retrieve quality records
  • Participate in problem solving activities
  • Obtain parts (pull) according to classification component checklist
  • Keep work area clean
  • Report incidents and injuries to team leader/manager immediately
  • Recognize close-call incidents and safety hazards and take action to eliminate them
  • Use equipment properly and follow the safety features/operating procedures
  • Wear applicable personal protective equipment
  • Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures
  • Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action, and customer satisfaction
  • Some programs may have vision requirements

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • One year experience in operations and/or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of basic statistical techniques
  • Ability to operate inspection instruments (i.e., calipers)
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control software
  • Ability to read basic blue prints
  • Cannot be color blind; Must be able to distinguish different colors
