Quality Engineer - Rotational Program

Responsibilities

Phillips-Medisize offers an engineering rotational program to new college graduates at the Bachelors level with a degree in a related technical discipline

The Engineer will work at up to 3 locations/facilities in Wisconsin/MA/CA over 18 months. The position requires 100% mobility to move based on business need. Opportunities for International assignments may be available to support our facilities in Europe, Mexico and China.

At the end of the program, placement in one of the U.S. facilities is based on the business need; the engineer’s preference will be considered.  Most opportunities will be in Wisconsin facilities, where the majority of employees are based.

These are fulltime, regular positions offering a competitive salary and benefits, along with relocation assistance for each move.

Key Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Participate and assist engineering efforts to ensure optimum engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing requirements from a Quality standpoint.
  • Interface with customers to resolve issues
  • Be a technical resource for the initiation and implementation of cost improvement plans on new and existing programs
  • Coordinate new process techniques that improve overall job efficiencies
  • Assist in the implementation of systems and procedures that assure compliance with Quality Standards
  • Assist in the development and implementation of statistical incoming and in-process sampling/control plans
  • Participate in AQP meetings representing quality, where appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Some programs may have vision requirements


Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • B.S. degree in quality engineering, other related engineering, or statistics

    Previous internships in quality/regulatory, or manufacturing environment highly desirable

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), attribute charting, Xbar & R charts, process capability studies, Pareto and cause/effect charts, DOE’s
  • Ability to manage small programs with limited assistance from others
  • Understanding of computer tools and systems
  • Ability to learn communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet timelines
  • Ability to work towards financial goals
