Operational Excellence Leader

Responsibilities

Responsible for the effective implementation and management of lean tools, systems and principles. Lead focused, proactive problem-solving efforts to improve processes and SQDC metrics. Responsible to identify and improve the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost, and increase customer satisfaction.  In addition, find and implement ways to eliminate waste in processes by increasing productivity, maximizing efficiency, and managing human capital more effectively by utilizing Lean and Six Sigma techniques.

• Identify and lead process improvement projects and teams to drive continuous improvement and cultural change
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to make operations more efficient and reduce the 8 Wastes of Lean
• Maximize improvement and cost savings by proactively identifying areas for improvement, leading lean initiatives and projects, utilizing lean tools and techniques, analyzing and reporting key metrics, communicating continuous improvement activities and training team members to accomplish the same
• Lead root cause analysis, evaluating production metrics and trends, improving material flow, creating project plans, creating and improving process documentation
• Carry out advanced data collection and analysis, developing budgets, and performing cost analysis to determine project feasibility
• Lead projects to achieve business, quality, and compliance objectives
• Analyze and implement recommendations to prevent failure recurrences
• Develop tactical plans and prioritize to achieve project goals; Solutions must be driven to completion
• Utilize excellent project management skills and experience; Effectively communicating, and demonstrating successful organizational and planning skills
• Troubleshooting and resolving moderately complex process issues
• Extended travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs
• Some programs may have vision requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience

• Bachelor degree (preferably in an engineering discipline); or equivalent mix of education and experience
• Knowledge of Lean tools (SMED, VSM, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, KPIs, JIT, etc.), systems, and principles preferred
• Ability to analyze and manipulate facility/production layouts utilizing CAD is preferred
• A moderate understanding of manufacturing and operations is preferred
