Mold Repair Apprentice

  • Training program to build the skills needed to become a competent journeyman level Mold Repairer
  • Satisfactorily complete on-the-job training and education per requirements of PMC Mold Repair Apprenticeship Program
  • Operate tool room equipment: Surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, etc.
  • Troubleshoot molding problems and keep production molds in quality operational condition
  • Repair tooling and/or coordinate the repairs with internal and external vendors
  • Help keep tooling area clean and organized
  • Work in team environment; work closely with Engineering and Production groups
  • Help train new apprentices as they develop and learn maintenance of tooling and tool building equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

This facility operates under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and therefore, any person hired must demonstrate with verifiable documentation that he/she is either: (i) a U.S. Citizen; (ii) an active Green Card Holder; or (iii) a “Protected Person” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324(b)(a)(3).

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • 2 year Technical Degree from Machine Tooling Program or
  • Experience in plastic injection molding and/or manufacturing environment is a plus

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Highly motivated, flexible, and able to prioritize work
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM and precision measuring tools
  • Working knowledge of plastic injection molding is desirable
  • Excellent work and attendance records
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; required to pass a Mechanical Aptitude test
