Material Handler - 12 Hour Days

Responsibilities

Material Handler needed to support manufacturing - this is a job with variety, including inventory, cleaning, and requiring attention to detail as well as customer service orientation in order to anticipate and meet the needs of the production floor in a timely manner!
12 HR DAY SHIFT, SCHEDULE INCLUDES WORKING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND, WITH  ALTERNATING 3-DAY WEEKENDS OFF - Fulltime job, working 15 days/month, with built in overtime every other week!
  • Review production schedule to stage upcoming jobs
  • Properly store and handle materials going in and out of staging area
  • Determine drying needs based on material type and production schedule
  • Place identification tags on dryers and hopper locations with legible and accurate information (initial and date)
  • Empty and clean hoppers at the end of each run, return unused material to warehouse and complete work order requirements
  • Clean auxiliary equipment such as grinders, hoses, filters, loaders and containers
  • Weigh all unused components and write new quantity on components before returning to warehouse
  • Operate forklift in a safe manner
  • Maintain excellent communications with Team Leaders and all co-workers, particularly at shift change so as to pass along pertinent production information
  • Assemble and distribute all packaging, supplies and components to work station and molding presses
  • Remove full boxes of product from molding/CNC/secondary areas and deliver to appropriate destination. Weigh boxes for count as needed
  • Investigate and correct variances real-time prior to moving on to the next job
  • Empty production floor garbage and prepare and load recyclables at the end of the shift
  • Return all material, WIP, and finished goods to warehouse
  • Able to perform shipping and receiving functions on weekends and evenings when Warehouse Specialists are not scheduled to work
  • Give breaks to operators
  • Stock supplies
  • Assist in physical inventory
  • Some programs may have vision requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience

 

  • Minimum six months molding operation experience
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills used to perform position successfully

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of resins and materials, particularly with respect to hazardous properties, drying times and temperatures
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Good math, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to be certified to operate forklift
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements for the position
