Master Production Scheduler

Responsibilities

  • Create a master production schedule that satisfies customer demand while maintaining optimum inventory levels, and resource utilization
  • Create a master production schedule that levels capacity and labor requirements
  • Ensure the master production schedule fits within the S&OP guidelines as set forth by the management team
  • Establish a regular channel of communication for gaining approval of the master production schedule by the management team
  • Ensure adequate capacity is available to meet current and future demand by utilizing rough cut capacity planning as an input to the master production schedule
  • Identify and inform management of capacity constraints, and recommend strategies to alleviate 
  • Act as an educator and trainer within the company to gain acceptance, and better understanding of the significance of the master production schedule
  • Optimize and maintain the scheduling system by updating information and system parameters, as needed such as lead times, time fences, lot sizes, safety stocks, etc.
  • Challenge current strategies to ensure the best possible manufacturing scenario is in place to meet facility objectives 
  • Maintain and facilitate an open line of communication between all parties and functions impacted by the master production schedule
  • Monitor changes to customer orders/forecasts, and their potential impact to the master production schedule. Provide feedback in a timely manner to customer service regarding the ability to meet the requested changes
  • Analyze impact of new business and incorporate into the master production schedule
  • Some programs may have vision requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • B.S. degree in production management or related field with a minimum 6 years’ experience 

                                                    OR

  • Minimum 11 years directly related experience and education with no degree

  • Demonstrated ability to work with suppliers and customers to establish the best supply chain solution
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects
  • Demonstrated superior communication, teamwork and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and meet production deadlines, along with contingency plans
  • Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and recommend options
  • Ability to lead others.  Responsibility may include direct supervision 
  • Ability to mentor others in the production department

This facility operates under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and therefore, any person hired must demonstrate with verifiable documentation that he/she is either: (i) a U.S. Citizen; (ii) an active Green Card Holder; or (iii) a “Protected Person” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324(b)(a)(3).
