Manufacturing Technician (Finishing Tech - Secondary Operations)

Responsibilities

12 HR NIGHT SHIFT, SCHEDULE INCLUDES WORKING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND, WITH  ALTERNATING 3-DAY WEEKENDS OFF

  • The Manufacturing (Finishing) Technician supports secondary operations of the manufacturing equipment.
  • Set up jobs for pad printers, lasers, assembly lines, and any other finishing / assembly operations
  • Perform general preventive maintenance on lasers, sonic welders, pad printers, assembly lines, and any other finishing / assembly equipment
  • Complete set-up and / or parameter sheets and other recordkeeping as required
  • Communicate changes / issues with Team Leader and with technicians on other shifts
  • Ensure quality of all parts and make adjustments to equipment / processes as needed
  • Assure a high level of safety for self and co-workers
  • Know and understand yours and / or others impact on the environment and take all necessary actions to reduce or eliminate negative results
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned
  • Keep work area clean
  • Report incidents and injuries to team leader / manager immediately
  • Recognize close-call incidents and safety hazards and take action to eliminate them
  • Use equipment properly and follow the safety features / operating procedures
  • Wear applicable personal protective equipment
  • Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures
  • Some programs may have vision requirements
  • Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action and customer satisfaction

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Technica (Manufacturing, Electro-Mechanical, etc.) degree in related field with 3-5 years related work experience
  • Previous experience in a technical manufacturing position
  • Will be able to certified in the internal training Finishing Tech Development Program o

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Basic mechanical aptitude; ability to recognize potential problems with product or equipment and take corrective action
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Must be able to work with paints and solvents
  • Must have basic math skills
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes in scheduling or product
  • Must be a self-starter and possess effective time-management skills
  • Ability to participate effectively in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
