Manufacturing Engineer - Rotational Program

Responsibilities

This position is targeted for a DECEMBER 2017 OR MAY 2018 BS graduate.

• Phillips-Medisize offers an engineering rotational program to new college graduates at the Bachelors level with a degree in a related technical discipline
• The Engineer will work at up to 3 locations/facilities in Wisconsin/MA/CA over 18 months. The position requires 100% mobility to move based on business need. Opportunities for International assignments may be available to support our facilities in Europe, Mexico and China.
• At the end of the program, placement in one of the U.S. facilities is based on the business need; the engineer’s preference will be considered.  Most opportunities will be in Wisconsin facilities, where the majority of employees are based.
• These are fulltime, regular positions offering a competitive salary and benefits, along with relocation assistance for each move.

Key Responsibilities
• Participate and assist with automation concepts, design, specification to GMP and GAMP requirements
• Participate as a liaison with project engineering, manufacturing, and the customer regarding the implementation of molding, secondary operations, and assembly programs
• Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, manage established yield and throughput, and drive for cost reduction and optimal quality
• Participate in engineering efforts to ensure optimum engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing requirements
• Interface with customers on a regular basis to resolve issues
• Participate in communication between customer, sales, engineering functions, outside vendors, manufacturing, and multi-divisional groups
• Maintain cost control and profitability through interaction with the accounting group, sales, and our customers
• Implement technical solutions to meet customer and Phillips Plastics cost, quality, and delivery expectations
• Facilitate and support facility and manufacturing safety, environmental, and ergonomics efforts
• Create and monitor project timelines

Qualifications - Education & Experience

• B.S. degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field with 0 -2 years of related intern or co-cop experience desired

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

• Understanding of injection molding, tooling, materials, part design, and affiliated processes; to include secondary operations and automation
• Ability to manage small programs with limited assistance from others
• Understanding of computer tools and systems
• Ability to learn communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Understanding of the quoting process
• Ability to meet timeline
• Ability to work toward financial goals
