Maintenance Technician Lead

Responsibilities

  • Support all molding equipment and custom assembly automation
  • Participate in equipment installation / operational qualifications
  • Document equipment change management
  • Install, set up and troubleshoot molding machines, auxiliary equipment and assembly equipment 
  • Diagnose malfunctions through use of proper test equipment
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment and assembly equipment
  • Properly document repairs through use of Maintenance Work Order System
  • Leadership responsibilities:
  • Oversee the flow of work; ensure the department is completing required work activities; and be a focal point for issues, problems and communication
  • Develop and train Maintenance Technicians
  • Assign specific work activities for a shift or work group
  • Provide input to performance review & may be a part of communication to the person reviewed
  • Provide input to decision maker whether to hire, terminate or discipline
  • Assistance with Kronos and timecards
  • Participate in problem solving and process improvements on existing and new equipment
  • Perform general housekeeping by keeping the facility and grounds neat
  • Perform work on electrical circuits, not to exceed a Class 1 per NFPA-70
  • Perform HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, heat pump maintenance
  • Barrel and screw measurement, service, and maintenance
  • Ensure adherence to all OSHA and Phillips Plastics Corporation safety regulations and guidelines, and reinforce these requirements to peers including:
    - Lock-out/Tag-out
    - Machine guarding requirements
  • Ability to work in a team environment to assure maintenance responsibilities are covered for production needs even on off shifts
  • Proactively identifies safety concerns
  • Comply with Environmental Management System program SOP’s/WI, Policy & Program elements and encourages responsible use of resources
  • Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction
  • Some programs may have vision requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Associates Degree in Electro-mechanical Technology or the equivalent; or a minimum of five years directly related experience and education with no degree
  • Minimum five (5) additional years of experience in maintenance field in an industrial environment performing responsibilities as outlined above

  • Proven troubleshooting/problem solving experience on automated processing equipment
