Finishing Technician - 12 Hour Nights

Responsibilities

The Manufacturing (Finishing) Technician position is an important role in our manufacturing facilities, supporting the equipment used in the molding and assembly of medical devices.
12 HR NIGHT SHIFT, SCHEDULE INCLUDES WORKING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND, WITH  ALTERNATING 3-DAY WEEKENDS OFF. Fulltime jobs working only 15 days each month, with built in overtime every other week!
  • Set up jobs for pad printers, lasers, assembly lines, and any other finishing/assembly operations
  • Perform general preventive maintenance on lasers, sonic welders, pad printers, assembly lines, and any other finishing/assembly equipment 
  • Complete set-up and/or parameter sheets and other recordkeeping as required
  • Communicate changes/issues with Team Leader and with technicians on other shifts
  • Work along with Maintenance and Engineering Technicians while trouble shooting and correcting issues on equipment
  • Ensure quality of all parts and make adjustments to equipment/processes as needed
  • Some programs may have vision requirements
  • Complete all of the required batch record and/or device history file documentation
  • Training resource for new automation for the Production Support Specialists
  • Setup and changeover of the high speed automation lines, the medical device assembly lines and the drug product assembly and packaging equipment
  • Primary assembly resource for new automation for new programs and participate when appropriate on the project team
  • Assure a high level of safety for self and co-workers
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • One-year Technical Degree in related field, or 1 year completed toward an associate‚Äôs degree in electro-mechanical discipline, or pass our internal Technician Development Program assessments.
  • Associates degree in electro-mechanical discipline is preferred
  • Minimum 1 year related experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Work in a timely manner to be certified in the internal Finishing Tech Development Program (paid training that is part of career development).

  • Basic mechanical aptitude; ability to recognize potential problems with product or equipment and take corrective action
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Must have basic math skills
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes in scheduling of product
  • Must be a self-starter and possess effective time-management skills
  • Ability to participate effectively in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
