Engineering Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate entire Change Order system to assure timely and effective documentation to all cross-functional groups
  • Manage IQMS activities such as generating and maintaining Bill of Materials and routings, customized items, and purchase requisitions
  • Set up IQMS pre-production projects to track sales, costs and delivery for a project
  • Pull tool numbers, issue PO’s for tooling and invoicing  
  • Work with project team to keep costs and planned close dates updated in IQMS on a monthly basis
  • Maintain Tool Log and participate in weekly meetings 
  • Facilitate order acknowledgement
  • Provide quotations on current accepted business
  • Provide support to cross-functional groups on the use and compliance with IQMS systems
  • Extended travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs
  • Some programs may have vision requirements
  • Safety/Environmental:
  • -Where applicable, individual is pre-planning safety into work activities to improve performance
  • -Proactively identifies safety concerns
  • -Complies with Environmental Management System program SOP’s/WI, Policy & Program elements and encourages responsible use of resources
  • Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Associate Degree in an administrative discipline or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience supporting an engineering function
  • Working experience with manufacturing and quality systems

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Intermediate level knowledge of common business computer software (Microsoft Suite)
  • Working knowledge of blueprint reading 
  • Excellent proofreading skills and acute attention to detail 
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational and communication skills 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize duties and be self-directing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
