Director of Operational Excellence - Med device Manufacturing

The Director of Operational Excellence will support our medical/pharma manufacturing business!  Work closely with our facilities throughout Wisconsin, in the NorthEast and Western US, along with Ireland to drive Continuous Improvement. CMO (Contract Manufacturing) experience highly desired!

Located near the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul,  the position is based at our Corporate Office in Hudson, WI - a quick commute from the Metro area!

  • Work with VP-Medical to support the integration of M&A targets.  Integration responsibilities will be primarily focused in operations at our manufacturing facilities..
  • Working in conjunction with plant management and the CDPE (Customer Driven Pursuit of Excellence) Mentor team, drive the continuous improvement process for Phillips-Medisize
  • Prioritize with plant management resources and determine which streams within the cost structure will be targeted for immediate improvement efforts
  • Lead various teams, which will analyze the processes within the cost structure
  • Develop and implement new “Best Practices”
  • Plans, lead and implement training / skill set development to support the “Best Practices”
  • Coach individuals in the development and execution of Implementation plans for the best practices in their revenue cycle streams
  • Write reports for decision makers that summarize the implications of the data analyzed, analyze cost-benefits, and provide useful recommendations to management
  • Conduct medical facility CDPE audits
  • Facilitator for company-wide “Share the Wealth” events
  • Extended travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs
  • Some programs may have vision requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or other technical discipline                                  
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with 10 -15 years in medical/pharma manufacturing
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in leading teams, which drive results
  • Master Black Belt Six Sigma Certified, Lean Manufacturing Certified



Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Strong facilitating skills
  • Advanced analytical skills, demonstrated project management skills, and demonstrated ability to foster change and acceptance
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong technical background in related Phillips-Medisize processes (i.e. molding, MIM, Mag)
  • Have worked in a regulated industry such as medical device manufacturing or drug delivery
  • Ability to utilize the LSS methodologies such as DMAIC, DMADV, DFSS, DMEDI, and DFMA
  • Have working knowledge of ERP systems preferably IQMS
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to lead others
  • Ability to influence others in a leadership role
