Corporate Sourcing and Logistics Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Source purchased components and services for new programs. Provide detailed cost information to Cost Estimators for sourced components and services.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of new products and services to production facility procurement.
  • Establish and attain annual goals for cost reduction initiatives.
  • Establish and assure leveraging of strategic corporate supplier relationships, in conjunction with parent company (i.e. Molex/Koch).
  • Develop and negotiate contracts, (supply agreements, rebate agreements, discount programs, payment terms, service contracts, etc.).
  • Manage Preferred Supplier List.
  • Provide leadership in the negotiation of supplier price increase proposals. Alert facilities of possible increases.  Review cost breakdowns and supporting evidence of cost drivers.  Negotiate to mitigate or avoid increases. Disseminate results to facility purchasing departments.
  • Support Quality Systems and Regulatory requirements to ensure internal and external compliance
  • Manage supplier performance at corporate level and track metrics for continuous improvement of A and B Suppliers. 
  • Facilitate and manage relationships with carriers, third party logistics (3PL) providers and freight payment services in conjunction with parent company resources (i.e. Molex and Koch). 
  • Manage and publish freight routing guides for all modes of transportation. 
  • Provide expertise and guidance to Phillips-Medisize for both domestic and international freight.  Assure adherence and compliance to import/export rules and regulations.
  • Resolve freight discrepancies within the corporation.
  • Create and administer carrier performance report cards and establish expectations of performance for annual review meetings.
  • Manage freight web tools such as AES Direct website and UPS Campus Ship.
  • Work to expand and enhance logistics expertise within all applicable functional areas.

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • B.S. degree in business; or equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in supply chain or a purchasing role with preference to sourcing experience

  • Must have excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong negotiation skills including development of strategies
  • Must be strategic thinker with ability to make decisions with potential long-term and significant impact to company
  • Demonstrated strategic sourcing skills in multi-location global environment
  • Intermediate Word, Excel, and Power Point software knowledge
  • Experience and/or knowledge of FDA, ISO or other highly regulated businesses
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams
  • Basic ERP/MRP experience
  • Good analytical ability
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work load
  • Strong customer focus
