Contract Administrator/Contract Review Paralegal

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts from a legal and business perspective pursuant to the company’s contracts review manuals and templates, and as directed by the legal team and business unit leaders
  • Review and escalate unique contract terms to the global contract administration manager and/or legal counsel if a contract cannot be closed after several rounds of negotiation
  • Prepare summaries and highlight areas of risk for management when needed
  • Work and communicate with legal counsel, the sales teams, business units and other company management on assigned contracts
  • Prepare redlined documents of agreements received with all Molex comments from affected functional areas, legal, business units and product division within the committed time frame
  • Set-up and participate on conference calls with customers and subcontractors to negotiate contracts after redlined versions of an agreement have been circulated
  • Update the ‘Review Queue Contract Tracking Document’ for assigned documents and publish reports as directed by management
  • Participate on monthly Global Contracts Meetings as directed for training, global and regional updates. Provide input on procedures and testing of systems to support global implementation with focus on regional requirements
  • Advise the company on legal, contractual and risk considerations
  • Exercise good judgment in managing and minimizing risk to the company
  • Effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the company
  • Some programs may have vision requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Safety/Environmental:
  • -Where applicable, individual is pre-planning safety into work activities to improve performance
  • -Proactively identifies safety concerns
  • -Complies with Environmental Management System program SOP’s/WI, Policy & Program elements and encourages responsible use of resources
  • Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction
  • Completion of one of the following:
  • -Submission of a continuous improvement idea
  • -Active participation in a Phillips-Medisize sponsored committee or event 
  • Examples include a - Rapid Improvement Event, a 5S/Lean event, Safety Committee, Wellness Committee, Recycling Committee, Activity Committee, or other Phillips-Medisize sponsored community outreach project/event (United Way, Junior Achievement, etc.)

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in business, management or related profession 
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience working with contract review and/or contract administration

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to quickly abstract contracts for company customers and subcontractors
  • Strong communication, both oral and written
  • Above average working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Office, Excel, Adobe 7.0 pdf Writer
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams internally and external customers in a positive manner
  • Solid, demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Legal understanding of contract terminology and use of language
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multi task
  • High level problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High energy, process-driven
  • Must adhere to ethical standards of confidentiality, as well as follow guidance for review content as set forth in Global Terms Guidelines
  • Able to employ sustained focus on analytical and data entry tasks in contract review and Word
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be capable of working with very large amounts of data 
  • Must excel at working in matrix organization across functional lines
  • Demonstrate ability to be meticulous with accuracy of work
