Automation Technician - 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

  • Design/upgrade automated equipment, end of arm tooling for robots and processes
  • Design circuitry, program and monitor PLC’s and other peripheral equipment
  • Improve equipment efficiency, utilization and yields through continuous improvement techniques
  • Installation, set-up, and maintenance of all production automation equipment
  • Assist in up-front design considerations of equipment and processes
  • Manage multiple projects and/or challenging projects
  • Strong ability to think outside of box, and assist others in doing so
  • Ability to work in a team environment to assure automation responsibilities are covered for production needs even on off shifts
  • May require being on call during weekends
  • Some programs may have vision requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Safety/Environmental:
       - Where applicable, individual is pre-planning safety into work activities to improve performance
       - Proactively identifies safety concerns
       - Complies with Environmental Management System program SOP’s/WI, Policy & Program elements and encourages responsible use of resources
  • Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Associate Degree in electro-mechanical technology or related field with at least 3 years’ experience, or equivalent.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong skills in continuous improvement and process facilitation
  • Strong ability to think outside of box, and assist others in doing so
  • Proven troubleshooting/problem solving experience of automated processing equipment
  • Strong ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ladder logic diagrams and schematics
  • PLC monitoring and programming experience
  • Competence with MS Word, MS Excel, CAD or similar drawing package
  • Experience with injection molding processing
  • Understand and working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout
