Assistant Corporate Controller

Responsibilities

Phillips-Medisize, a Molex company, has a leadership opportunity in the corporate global accounting and reporting group, which is responsible for consolidations, financial reporting, pension accounting, government reporting, statutory reporting oversight, and audit management. 
Provide direction and leadership to Accounting group including people management.

  • Develop a team of employees and the global consolidated accounting process, as well as further promote the MBM® culture and develop talent leveraging employees' comparative advantages
  • Serve as key leader over the integrity and timely completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated close process, financial statements for internal reporting, government reporting, and quarterly reporting packages.  Including review of account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Proactively evaluate and monitor the overall internal control environment, set the tone for a robust internal control environment and help identify and remedy key gaps timely and in a cost effective manner.
  • Build strong network of internal and external accounting & reporting resources to include key customers around the company, third-party service providers and other external information sources to ensure best practices are identified and leveraged.
  • Lead the implementation of new accounting standards, including the new revenue recognition standard
  • Proactively drive creative destruction and continually look for ways to improve processes and create additional value for customers
  • Some programs may have vision requirements

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in accounting
  • CPA certification
  • Minimum four (4) years leading people
  • Minimum seven (7) years of accounting experience including public accounting and supervisory experience

  • Leadership skills including ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Decision making and prioritization skills
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to analyze financial problems and develop solutions
  • Strong computer skills
