Metrology Engineer

A full
time position based in our Hillegom offices
in The Netherlands 


The Metrology Engineer can support the Increasing Measurement
and Test Metrology activities and associated processes related to the
manufacturing organization (CMO) . You will address Metrology related
production issues, initiate and process Non Conformances and CAPA’s and drive
and support process improvements in the metrology department. Performing CMM,
Vison and other methods when needed. Reporting and Data analyzing is also one
of the activities that should be performed. Assisting in test method validation
studies like GRR. We have new testing devices most of them are from Zeiss with
the Calypso platform. For data gathering and analyzing we use QC-Calc and
Minitab. The metrology team consists now of 9 people and is part of the Quality
organization within the plant.

The Metrology Engineer should be able to work as a
team player but will also be responsible executing the assigned task in time
(result oriented). In this role your pro-active attitude and self starting
skills are crucial.

Reporting and operating under the direction and
guidance of the Metrology Supervisor, based in Hillegom, The Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities for the Metrology Engineer are:



  • Act as Metrology Lead CMO and
    CMO projects
  • Develop, review and optimize
    test methods and applicable Work Instructions
  • Write and review GRR protocols
    and reporting
  • Measurement data statistical
    analyses and reporting
  • Optimize current tests related
    to CMO
  • Execution of standard production
    and NPI metrology if needed
  • Responsible for planning and
    timely execution of CMO release inspection in collaboration with peers
  • Assess, process and follow up on
    Metrology related complaints, OOS, 
    NCRs, PDs from CMO organization
  • Development
    of Test Methods


  • Write,
    review and update documentation in the Uniform Quality Management System (UQMS)
  • Support
    development and implementation of customized and/or standardized measuring
  • Ensure
    validated measuring methods
  • Identify,
    develop and optimize Metrology Measurement Systems
  • Write,
    review, execute and report validation protocols related to process validation,
    measuring method validation and test equipment
  • Participate
    in quality and improvement projects
  • Participate in (P)FMEA


  • Assure timely settlement
    of customer requests


  • Maintain effective working relationship with

    performance in regard of the increased stakeholder/customer needs

Qualifications - Education & Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor or equivalent by experience/training Experience in CMO plastics industry with international customers is preferred
  • Sound knowledge of metrology processes and equipment
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems in general and metrology specific (e.g. ISO13485 ISO 2859, ISO 395, GAMP 5)
  • Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Lean and Six Sigma is beneficial
  • Statistical Techniques
  • Effective communication skills
  • Manage multiple tasks and challenges
  • Execute tasks with high accuracy and reliability
  • Able to set priorities
  • Customer focused
  • Execute RCA and Risk management assessments
  • Proficient computer skills

  • Statistical Software applications 
  • English proficiency at CEFR B2 level
  • Mastering Dutch language 
  • 3+ years’ experience in Quality Healthcare and/or similar regulated Industry
