time position based in our Hillegom offices
in The Netherlands  


Position:

Provide technical
leadership during projects in support of manufacturing in the effort to ensure
optimum engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing
requirements

Qualifications - Education & Experience


Key
Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer are:

Quality and Design Assurance

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement corrective action to deliver customer satisfaction / business systems improvements
  • Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs,policies and procedures 

Health
and Safety

  • Keep work area clean
  • Report incidents and injuries to team leader/manager immediately
  • Recognize close-call incidents and safety hazards and take action to eliminate them
  • Use equipment properly and follow the safety features/operating procedures
  • Wear applicable personal protective equipment 

Leadership

  • Functions as a liaisan with project engineering, manufacturing and the customer regarding the implementation of programs, both molding, secondary operations and assembly
  • Coordinate, direct and lead engineering efforts to ensure optimum engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing requirements
  •  Facilitate and support facility and manufacturing safety, environmental and ergonomics efforts
  • Create and monitor project timelines 

Customer and Supplier
relations

  • Facilitate communication between customer, sales, engineering functions, outside vendors, manufacturing and multi-divisional groups 
  •  Interface with customers & suppliers on a regular basis to communicate project progress and resolve issues 

Development

  • Implement technical solutions to meet customer and Phillips Plastics cost, quality, and delivery expectations 
  • Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, manage to established yield and throughput, and drive for cost reduction and optimal quality  

Finance &
Reporting

  • Maintain cost control and profitability through
    interaction with the accounting group, Project Manager, sales and our customers
     

Communication

Internal:

  • Frequent communication with RoEU Engineering Manager, Project Managers, Business Development Managers and Principal Proposal Developer/Cost Estimator 
  • Regular communication with Engineering Manager(s) Tooling
    and
    Automation Managers, CZ Plant management and Production organization

External:

  • Regular meetings with Product Development, Project Management and Design and Product Development organizations of customers
  • Tooling & automation suppliers as well as technology suppliers for these areas

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in engineering field with 7-10 years of related experience, OR
  • 11-15 years of directly related experience and education with no bachelors degree
  • Strong and diverse technical injection molding tooling, materials, manufacturing, quality, and product design skills  
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects
  • Ability to accurately quote design, tools/equipment, and parts
  • Ability to develop and meet project schedules, along with contingency plans
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Responsibility may include direct supervision of technicians and mentoring/leading engineers
  • Ability to use CAD to determine if tooling, equipment and part designs meet requirements
  • Demonstrated superior communication, teamwork and organizational skills
  • English language proficiency at CEFR C1 level
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and meet financial goals
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and develop future account needs
  • Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and recommend options
  • Demonstrated broad understanding of capabilities and technologies of other PM EU facilities, suppliers, and customers
