EU Tooling Manager

  • Lead, manage and develop the Tool Build (Design and Manufacturing) function from technical, business and talent management point of view
  • Coordinate, plan and allocate the Tool Build resources to meet or exceed facility and corporate goals
  • Work in conjunction with the other Global PMC Tool Build capabilities and the Principal Tooling Engineer to develop and implement standardization and harmonization of tooling concepts and solutions across Phillips-Medisize EU sites
  • Work in conjunction with Procurement and the Principal Tooling Engineer to create and manage the supplier networks for outsourced tools and tool service
  • Measure, report and continuously improve tooling function performance
  • Ensure customer (both internal and external) satisfaction of Kontiolahti Tool Build function
  • Ensure compliance to the Company’s Quality Management System
  • Develop the tool design and manufacturing processes for continuous improvement of technical performance, productivity, lead-time, quality and compliance/conformance and in alignment with Company’s Global best practice in order to drive value for the Tool Builds customers
  • Ensure the financial performance of the tooling function according to annual budgets and targets
  • Prepare and manage capital expenditures for improvement, replacement or modification of tooling equipment
  • Other tasks assigned by the superior


Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • B.Sc or M.Sc degree in mechanical engineering, plastic engineering or corresponding knowledge
  • Significant experience in customer facing and influencing roles
  • Understanding injection moulding tool design and manufacturing technologies as well as costing, pricing and sales process in tool manufacturing and contract manufacturing
  • Understanding of concepts and dynamics of international contract manufacturing industry
  • Understanding of product development and industrialization processes of plastics components and assemblies
  • Plastics material basics, technologies of injection moulding and automation
  • Knowledge of effective interpretation and deployment of actions to achieve P&L requirements


Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Proven managerial and leadership skills preferably in a technical discipline
  • Good people skills with the ability to interact and engage with people at all levels of the organization
