Assembly Process  Engineer
A full
time position based in our Hillegom offices
in The Netherlands

Position:


Develop and improve efficient product manufacturing methods and processes
that fully fit both customer and company business needs. Role may have a focus
on Moulding, automation or packaging
.

Qualifications - Education & Experience

 Quality:

Implement new production processes and projects 

Provide technical support and knowledge of complex manufacturing primary and secondary processes and packaging requirements 

Assess process or product reliability 

Conceptualize and sketch process and product improvements 

Coordinate development and fabrication of equipment 

Train operators, assemblers and inspectors on process and inspection techniques

Process and product transfer:

  •  Manages and monitors day-to-day project documentation 
  •  Identifies required capabilities and resources in support of the project scope and deliverables
  •  Participates in development in the area of project management, product development, process development and tooling 
  •  Participates in (CMO) design review sessions 
  •  Develops and improves the effectiveness of projects and processes under his/her responsibility 
  • Reports project status to Manager Design Assurance and Project Manager

Project Management:

  • Works under guidance of the Program Manager
  • Manage project scope, drive projects thru to manufacturing stage
  • Work within agreed time-scales and budgets 
  • Read, interpret and revise process master batch records and product blueprints including documentation
  • Delivers presentations to apprise management of project status

Development:

  • Develop dedicated product manufacturing methods and processes 
  • Contribute to the development of new products, using process expertise 
  • Evaluate, improve and enhance product manufacturing processes 
  • Equipment design  

Quality:

  • FMEA
  • Validation of newly introduced systems Support the development of  product verification test requirements and capabilities, including test methods, protocols and reports to ensure product quality and conformance to specifications 
  • Represent Pre-Production department in process and quality improvement initiatives such as SOP (standard operating procedure) creation
  • Comply with all GMP and ISO requirements

Communication:

  • All Phillips-Medisize production, pre-production and quality departments 
  • Phillips-Medisize customers and suppliers

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Polytechnic Bachelor degree in technical engineering 
  • Proven track record in development and improvement of efficient product manufacturing methods and processes
  • A strong understanding of GMP and ISO regulations 
  • Demonstrable understanding of the scientific approach to manufacturing process development, optimisation and problem solving e.g
  • Design of experiments / 8D etc 
  • Demonstrable experience in undertaking product transfer from NPI into manufacture ensuring all stakeholders are engaged in the activity 
  • Accomplished abilities in the area of training and implementing lean manufacturing principles, generating tangible savings and providing customer satisfaction in quality and delivery 
  • Ability to function well in a team environment 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills  
  • Interface well/cross functionally 
  • Capable of using good reason and judgment to make and defend recommendations 
  • Superior analytical skills and computer skills 
  • English language proficiency on C1 (advanced) level *) language skills  
  • Five to Seven Years of Industry related experience 
  • Proven track record in the medical device/ CMO industry with focus in process development and engineering support for the introduction of new products
